Standing Crew Orders From Captain Duncan McGuyver

Last Updated 03/23/05

The standing orders are rules that apply to all members of the ship. Violation of these rules are one of the few things that can result in walking the plank. Updates and changes are made at the discretion of the Captain.

*
Rule 1...The Captain is always right.

*Even if the crew member is right, rule one applies.

*
What happens within the crew stays within the crew - PERIOD.

* Once you have been found worthy of joining the crew and offered a position you have 30 days to order your guild packet. After that time your position will be released until you are in good standing with the guild. If this presents a problem you must talk to the Captain to see if special arrangements can be made.

* Providing the Captain with rum and cider is
ALWAYS a good thing.

* Available positions on board ship are limited to the one posted by the Captain. Requests for a position other than those listed will only be reviewed if it can be demonstrated that the position is historically accurate for a golden age pirate ship. Existing "Non period" positions are grandfathered in.

*The Captain is never off course, he makes strategic allowances.

* The quartermaster shall ensure that all booty is split evenly among the crew.

* The Captain shall inspect all captured female booty to make sure it is safe for the crew. The "Swing Wench" shall perform same inspection on any captured sea men.

*The Captain is never havin' an affair with a member of the crew, he his educatin' her.

* The Captain does not permit a crew member to serve on two ships if those ships are from the same home port. For ships of separate home ports permission from the Captain is still required.

*The Captain is never late, he is delayed.

* Any crew member who does not attend a ships event for one year is subject to loosing their rank and position on board ship. At the Captains discretion that crew member would be placed on the "Retired List" in the same position. Their active crew position would then be available for filling.

* Anyone causing "drama" among the crew will be shot from the closest cannon.

* Pillage
BEFORE Plundering, THEN Burn.

* All crew members shall watch out for each other when pillaging ashore.

*The Captain is always the Captain, even when he's in his swimmin' trunks.
